Batty: ZX Spectrum marks the inaugural entry in a new series of applications aimed at revitalizing classic ZX Spectrum games. Our intention is to facilitate an environment where players can engage with and complete these games entirely free of charge.

Originally developed by Mark Crane in 1987, Batty: ZX Spectrum is presented as an officially licensed product, utilizing the advanced ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection technology.

Key Features:

• Optimal display modes for both portrait and landscape orientations
• iDaptive controls, which are customizable for specific games (see YouTube for more information)
• Auto-save functionality upon exiting the game
• Authentic ZX Spectrum sound effects

Players can unlock cheats through high score achievements or by making in-app purchases. It is important to note that restoring the game to factory settings is possible by selecting ‘No’ when prompted, “Would you like to continue from your last position?” However, if 'Yes' is subsequently chosen, all progress, cheats, and in-game credits will be lost.

Available Cheats:

• 100,000 * Destroy Indestructible Bricks - On/Off
• 50,000 * Destroy Multi-hit Bricks with 1 Hit - On/Off
• 25,000 * Magnets - On/Off
• 10,000 * Aliens - On/Off

Please note that additional achievements and cheats may become available with future updates.

Gameplay Instructions:

If utilizing the Batty: ZX Spectrum application with the Recreated ZX Spectrum, ensure that the device's 'LAYER Switch' is set to 'Game Mode' on the left (A).

The application offers two gameplay modes:

1. Original Game Controls: Experiences the game as designed for the original ZX Spectrum, extensive functionality via on-screen keyboard in portrait mode or using the Recreated ZX Spectrum in either orientation.
2. iDaptive Game Controls: Provides a modernized control scheme that shares similarities across all games in this new series.

About Batty:

The objective of Batty is to eliminate bricks from the play area by bouncing a ball off a racket. Players progress through levels by clearing all bricks on the court. Certain bricks grant power-ups when destroyed that must be caught by the racket; these include:

• Extended racket
• Slow ball
• Smart Bomb - destroys all creatures
• Hand - allows holding onto the ball
• Gun - enables shooting capabilities
• Extra life
• Triple ball
• Rocket pack - transports to the next level
• Bonus points
• Smash ball - clears everything in its path
